SMART Board
Founded in 1987 by Calgarians David Martin and Nancy Knowlton, SMART Technologies developed the world's first interactive whiteboard, a touch-sensitive whiteboard that functions as a computer monitor and mouse combined.
Other products of this internationally acclaimed Calgary-based company include interactive pen displays, interactive digital signage, wireless slates and software, maintained by a broad portfolio of patents.
In 2008, for the fifth time, Military Training Technology magazine designated SMART Technologies as one of the top 100 training and simulation companies in the world. Employing more than 1,000 people, SMART products are sold through dealers across North America and through distributors in more than 100 countries.
