Edmonton A longtime Fort McMurray teacher and principal has been designated Chair of Keyano College's Board of Governors. Pamela MacGillivray was appointed by Minister of Learning Dr. Lyle Oberg to the position effective June 26, 2001.
Ms. MacGillivray is an experienced and respected educator and administrator, said Dr. Oberg. Her knowledge and clear commitment to education in her community will be an asset to Keyano College and to Alberta's learning system.
Ms. MacGillivray is the principal of Fort McMurray's Westwood Community High School. She currently serves as Chairman of the Keyano College Foundation and as an executive member of the Council of School Administrators. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Pastew Place Detoxification Centre.
In the past, she has also been Chairman of the Fort McMurray Public School District Administrators Association and was a delegate to both the Provincial Children's Forum and the Think Tank on Family Literacy. Ms. MacGillivray has thirty years of experience as a teacher and a school administrator.
