Atlanta Mission to BIO2009
BIO 2009 is the largest global event for the biotech industry. More than 20,000 business leaders, scientists, executives, investors and industry leaders from more than 60 countries attended this event held May 18-21, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. Minister Horner participated in the opening of the Canadian Pavilion and spoke at an Alberta reception where he announced the launch of two Alberta-based genomics projects: plant genomics (read news release) and oil metagenomics (read news release). He also spoke at the Korea-Canada biotech reception. Alberta’s presence at this international conference showcased the province’s growing life sciences industry and a commitment to increased technology commercialization. Read trip news release.
